Ghana coach Otto Addo has announced his squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying games against Mali and Central African Republic next month.
The former Borussia Dortmund tactician during a presser on Wednesday disclosed his 26-man squad for the crucial games slated for early June.
Shockingly, captain Andre Ayew has been omitted from the squad despite his outstanding performance for Le Havre in the just ended French Ligue 1 campaign.
Meanwhile, notable players like Mohammed Kudus, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, Ernest Nuamah have all been included in the team.
Arsenal star Thomas Partey is back to the team and will take charge as captain in the absence of Andre Ayew.
While Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare is the only home-based player to have made the cut for the qualifiers.
The Black Stars will commence preparation for the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.
Ghana will face Mali on June 6 at Stade 26 Mars in Bamako before hosting Central Africa Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium on June 10.
