A total of 234 Fish Mongers in Asamankese main market in the West Akyem Municipality of the Eastern Region have been relocated to Methodist School park temporarily as part of measures to ensure social distancing to avert the spread of Pandemic COVID -19.
This was agreed after a crunch meeting with the Municipal Security Council, Health Directorate and Municipal COVID-19 Team with leaders of the Market women Association.
Chief Executive of the Municipality, Mr. Seth Oduro Boadu revealed in an interview said the is no case of the deadly disease but the Assembly Team on COVID-19 is on course to ensure that all people in the area adhere by Restrictions orders by the government and Ghana Health Service.
He commanded Media Houses especially for dedicating air time for education for some time now.
The MCE urged Drivers to reduce the number of passengers to ensure social distancing and avert the spread.
