A 24-year-old Auto Electrician has been sentenced to 19 years imprisonment for stealing and threatening to harm a Police officer who was a witness by the Asamankese Circuit Court.
The accused, Samuel Ofori(a.k.a. Kotopere) pleaded guilty when he appeared before His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams in the court.
Detective Sageat Wisdom Banson, Prosecuting officer told the court the Police officer who was threatened after he attempted to arrest the accused person is D/C inspector Isaac Owusu Achiaw station at Kade together with four other complainants.
The accused, Samuel Ofori was sentenced to five years imprisonment for stealing four Industrial overlock machines worth ¢3,000.00, five sewing machines, two Industrial overlock machine motors, Two industrial Joromi and phoenix design machines, rice cooker, Second standing fan, DVD player and others worth ¢12,560.00 on 28th August 2020.
He also stole five absorbers valued at ¢1200.00, oven, metal spring bars and Vehicle Gas Cylinder worth ¢2,260.00 on 24th August at Kade, properties of Joseph Atta Brako.
Samuel Ofori, after stealing the above items threatened to harm a Police officer who saw him and attempted to arrest him and he was sentenced 14 years.
