Two persons have been confirmed dead in a fatal head-on collision that occurred last night at Akyem Tafo in the Eastern region
A Toyota Van with registration number ER 718-15 en route from Kumasi to Odumase-Krobo crashed with a Hyundai Elantra with Registration Number GR 3522-19 from Akyem Tafo.
Two persons -a male and female aboard the Hyundai Elantra private car sustained life-threatening injuries were pronounced dead on arrival at the New Tafo Government Hospital.
Dozens of passengers onboard the Toyota vehicle sustained injuries and were rushed to New Tafo Government Hospital and Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua.
Meanwhile, one of the passengers in the van going to Krobo Odumase from Kumasi has also been confirmed dead this morning, making the number of death three (3).
The cause of the crash is yet to be established in an ongoing investigation by the police.
