Three health workers have tested positive for Coronavirus in Yesukrom and Osino Health centers in the Eastern Region after getting exposed to a patient who died of Coronavirus.
The deceased a resident of Akyem Osino in Fanteakwa South District visited the Osino and Yesukrom Health Centers Osino and Anyinam Communities respectively to seek healthcare.
He was later referred to St Joseph Hospital in Koforidua where he was clinically suspected to be infected with Coronavirus.
The sample test result confirmed his status as carrying the virus but died shortly.
One health worker at Osino and two at Yesukrom Private Health facility who had contact with the deceased later tested positive.
Results of health workers exposed to the case in St. Joseph are yet to be made known.
The number of health workers infected with Covid-19 continues to increase in the Eastern Region.
As of June 29, 2020, 248 health workers in the Region have tested positive out of which one has died.
The numbers represent 37% of total cases of 668 recorded in the Eastern Region as of June 29, 2020.
A Pregnant Nurse has recently been infected with Coronavirus at the Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua.
The Nurse who is a Ward In-Charge tested positive while on admissions for days at the Maternity ward over ill health.
