The Eastern Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Ebenezer Tetteh has cautioned all Ghanaians to leave some of their family members at home during the 31st watch night service.
According to him, criminals always take advantage of the 31st watch night service to steal people’s properties in the country.
‘‘If possible, one or two persons can be left behind in order to ensure that if anybody attempts to break into their facilities, they can raise an alarm,’’ Supt Ebenezer Tetteh said.
In an interview with Nhyiraba Nartey Solomon of Bryt fm, Supt Ebenezer Tetteh urged Ghanaians to take their own security into their hands and be security conscious as the police cannot be available everywhere.
Speaking on the road crash situation in the country, he appealed to all road users to drive safe and desist from alcoholism to help reduce the high number of road accidents in the country.
He added that the Eastern regional police command is playing a significant role to curtail criminal’s cases and also ease over speeding on highways in the region.
Supt Ebenezer Tetteh also revealed that vehicles that load insecurely are intercepted adding that those who don’t have the necessary documents are dealt with.
He added that his outfit will deploy a lot police officers both day and night especially where events were being organized including, pubs, total 2 and others to help reduce criminal activities as the regional patrol team are intensifying their activities.
