The Asamankese Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams has sentenced a 33-year-old Labourer to two years imprisonment for stealing Palm Fruits from Ghana Oil Palm Development Company in Kwae.
Osman Yahaya, the accused was sentenced on his plea but his accomplice, Bright Anim, Kwaku Boat and Moses are at large now.
Prosecution, Detective Inspector Owusu Achiaw told the Court that the complainant, William Tetteh is a Security man at Ghana Oil Palm Development Company in Kwae whilst the accused person and his accomplice are also residents in the same Town.
The prosecution said on 1st March 2020 at about 12:40pm, the security men at the Palm Farm had a tip-off that some people have invaded the farm and stealing palm fruits.
The security personal chased the suspects and saw 120 benches of palm fruits parked in Tricycle worth about ¢800.00 but three of them escaped and one was arrested.
During interrogation, the accused admitted stealing and mentioned his accomplice and was sent to Asuom Police for arrest and later proceeded to court for prosecution.
