A total of 421,467 Potential voters have Registered in the Eastern Region from 30th June to 11th July, according to the Electoral Commission.
The figure represents 9.5% of a total of 4,445,346 voters registered nationwide within 12 days.
This represents 30% of the Commission’s target of 15 million voters and covers both the first and second phases of the exercise from Tuesday, June 30 to Saturday, July 11, 2020.
The Electoral Commission in the Eastern Region has received 627 challenge forms that involve persons believed to be non-residents and foreigners.
Data compiled by the Electoral Commission indicates that the Eastern Region placed third, registering 215,616 voters, representing 9.73% in the first six days.
The voter registration exercise is been conducted in 6728 registration centers and the 267 district offices of the Commission.
