About forty-four (44) students and Teachers of Akosombo International School in Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region have tested positive for covid-19.
Mybrytfmonline.com can confirm that this was after a mass testing exercise of students and staff conducted by Management of the school since academic work resumes some three weeks ago.
The infected students and teachers were transported in a bus Tuesday and quarantined in a hotel at Akosombo.
The cases recorded in the school have increased the number of active cases in the Eastern Region to 174 as Kwahu West has also recorded 4 new cases.
The Eastern Regional Health Director, Dr. Winfred Ofosu confirmed the situation at Asuogyaman but refused to disclose the name of the school.
He said the Regional Health Directorate was yet to be given a detailed report from the Asuogyaman District Health Directorate.
