A 60-year-old painter was on Saturday, September 26, 2020, crushed by a mini Kia loaded with wood at Akyem Kukurantumi in Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The vehicle which was being driven by an inexperienced teenager knocked down and run over the victim who was standing at the roadside in an attempt to cross the road.
The victim sustained serious injuries on the head while both legs were broken.
He was rushed to Kukurantumi Community Hospital where his condition was stabilized and referred to St. Joseph Hospital.
The victim is said to be a Northerner who settled in Kukurantumi a few years ago.
He attends Church at Church of Christ in Kukurantumi. Some of his Church Members who were at the Kukurantumi Community Hospital told mybrytfmonline.com that they just returned from a funeral with the victim.
Meanwhile, the owner of the Vehicle says the suspect driver who committed the act moved the vehicle he had parked without his knowledge.
The suspect driver has since fled from the community.
Police Investigator has since visited the crime scene and the victim to begin an investigation.
