Seventy (70) suspects arrested for various offenses mostly stealing cases in Bibiani Anhwianso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region have been jailed by Court.
The District Police Commander of Sefwi Bekwai Superintendent Martin Ininigan explained that the arrests were made within eight months period of assuming office.
According to him, he believes that one of the best ways to fight a crime accused persons to face the full rigor of the law to serve as a deterrent.
Superintendent Martin Ininigan said this when the Omanhene of Sefwi Bekwai traditional area, Oyeadeeyie Basape Kwadwo Armah III, donated six(6) packed Pro Business radio (2way radio Communication gadget) to the police to help the fight of crime through effective communication.
Superintendent Ininigan also used the medium to appeal to the chiefs to educate residents living within Sefwi Bekwai and its environs on covid 19 protocols and encourage them to take the vaccine when the time comes.
The Omanhene of Sefwi Bekwai traditional area, Oyeadeeyie Basape Kwadwo Armah III told correspondent Kwame Kontor Boateng that he decided to purchase the security Communication gadget for the police after noticing they used their mobile phones to communicate even during an unacceptable security operation.
