The Goaso Divisional Police Command in Ahafo Region have arrested seventy-five (75) persons for not wearing their nose masks as directed by His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo – Addo to help combat the spread of COVID – 19 pandemic.
The Divisional Police Commander of Goaso Police Division, ASP Danso Abeam, was surprised that nurses and other health workers, as well as teachers, were among people arrested for not adhering to the wearing of nose masks.
According to him, “if health workers who are mandated to handle people tested positive of the virus are not adhering to the safety protocols then it means the country has a difficult task dealing with the spread of the virus”.
He stated that police have taken the caution statements of the 75 culprits granted them bail to report on Monday 25th January 2021 as the command awaits further directives from the Regional Police Command.
He advised residents of Goaso and its environs to adhere to the wearing of nose masks because the police won’t spare any person arrested.
He expressed worry that residents of Goaso are not complying with the protocols exposing the area to the dangers of the disease.
“Even those in villages coming to Goaso to undertake their respective businesses are in their masks as compared to those in Goaso”.
