Outspoken football administrator, Takyi Arhin popularly known as ‘Thunder’ has rose to the defense of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Kurt Okraku following constant criticism from some Ghanaians who thinks the FA has failed to leave up to expectations.
Kurt Okraku’s led Ghana FA After being in office for about seven months has been taken to the cleaners as a session of football administrators are calling for his impeachment.
But Takyi Arhin in an interview has slammed saboteurs of the nation’s football governing body.
Following the outbreak of coronavirus, FIFA have given its Federations $500,000 to help combat the situation and according to the GFA, the money is meant for operational cost.
However, top administrators in the country have expressed their concern and have criticized the FA for their decision not to share the money to the clubs.
According to him, such suggestions and called the claims as unfounded adding that he strongly disagrees with those lambasting the Ghana FA.
“If someone says this administration has not done anything, I beg to differ”, he told Asempa FM.
“Since he (Kurt Okraku) came, what again should he do, he has formed various committees across board and he involved persons from the camps of those he contested against.
“When the league was about to start without a sponsor, they gave each premier league team 50,000, first division 25,000 and women’s football teams 15,000.
“Today adjudication of cases at the disciplinary committee is expedited. Referees have lifted their game. Bring back the love is working and the love is coming back.
“The GFA consults all stakeholders before making any decision, so if anyone thinks nothing has changed, then the person are wearing wooden spectacles,” he concluded.
