The four Convicted Kingmakers in Akropong have paid GHS48,576 fine imposed on them by Akropong Circuit Court.
The Amanokromhene Nana Osim Kwatia mobilized resources and paid the fine for the convicts within an hour after the judgment.
The convicted persons Odehye Kofi Asiedu Adu-Mfum, 57, Nana Semenhyia Ohene Asa Krofa, 43, Benert Osei Opoku alias Ohenenana BS Opoku, 55, and Nana Odiasempa Krobea Asante, 70, were Charged for failing to comply with the restriction imposed on gathering contrary to paragraph 1(A) VII of EI 64 and section 6 of the Imposition of Restriction Act 1012 /2020 by Detective Inspector Lukeman Sulemana, the Prosecutor.
The accused persons pleaded guilty.
The Court Presided over by Her Honour Arrit Nsemo, therefore, sentenced them to a fine of 1012 penalty units which translates to Ghc12,144 in default serves 4 years jail sentence.
The convicted Kingmakers were arrested Friday, May 2, 2020, for enstooling a Paramount Chief-Oseedeayo Kwasi Akuffo II amid crowed of about 500 persons flouting the imposition of restriction on Public gathering.
