The Akyem monarch Capital, Kyebi, played host to a number of high profile personalities on Saturday, December 14, as the Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin climaxed his 20th-anniversary celebration as king.
The impressive and exciting grand durbar, that climaxed a litany of events commemorating the 20th anniversary of the enthronement of Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, pulled a mammoth crowd from different creed, ethnicity and cultures, across the globe, to join in the celebration with the Great King.
It were all colours, at the forecourt of the Ofori Panin Fie as traditional chiefs, seated in full regalia, under a canopy of giant multi-coloured umbrellas, amidst the reverberating and pulsating sounds and rhythms from the “Fotomfrom” and “Mpintin” drums, the “Atenteben” and “Ntahra”, awaiting the entry of the august celebrant.
Notable among the personalities at the Ofori Panin Fie were President Akufo-Addo and his vice, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as well as their spouses, Ya Na Abubakari Mahama II, the King of the Dagbon, Former President Jerry John Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Freddie Blay, General Secretary of NDC, Asiedu Nkatia and others.
