The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has been elected President of the African Parliamentarians’ Network Against Corruption (APNAC) at the 9th Biennial General Meeting held in Accra.
The Speaker accepted the role with humility and an unwavering commitment to promoting integrity in public life and supporting the continent’s fight against corruption.
Speaker Bagbin expressed gratitude to the outgoing President and Board Members for their service to the Network. He noted that their leadership had provided a strong foundation on which the new administration would continue to build. He added that the Network remained thankful for their dedication, collective wisdom and lasting contribution.
He later pledged to work with members to advance the vision and mission of APNAC. He called for unity and cooperation, saying collective effort was vital to strengthening parliaments, improving accountability and building a continent where integrity is upheld as a standard practice.
