The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primary is set for Saturday, January 31, and the Electoral Commission (EC) has declared that it is ready.
Stakeholders have been reassured by the Commission that all administrative and logistical preparations are on track to guarantee a seamless and reliable election.
The EC’s Deputy Director of Research, Fred Tetteh, told Citi News that the distribution of election materials to the various polling places would start on Tuesday, January 27.
He claims that important preliminary procedures, such as printing ballots, have been successfully finished under close monitoring.
“Preparations are far ahead, in terms of printing the ballot papers, in the presence of the aspirants’ representatives. That has been completed,” Mr Tetteh said.
He added that the voter album for delegates had also been received and that the EC had taken complete possession of the voting papers upon printing.
“The EC, as of now, has taken full custody of the ballot papers from the printing house. We have also received the voter album of the delegates, and hopefully, by Tuesday at the latest, all the materials will be dispatched to the 16 regional capitals for onward transmission to the constituency centres,” he added.
