Mohammed Amin Adam, former Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Karaga, has endorsed Paul Afoko for the role of National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, characterizing him as the ideal candidate to reposition the party ahead of future elections.
Dr. Amin Adam expressed his support during a courtesy call from some NPP leaders and hopefuls at his private residence, citing Mr. Afoko’s competency and ability to lead the party back to power.
“I support Paul Afoko for National Chairman,” Dr. Amin Adam said.
He contended that the party, currently in opposition, need experienced leadership capable of rebuilding its infrastructure and preparing for the upcoming general election.
“We know the serious people who can bring us back to power. We do not follow the masses to choose someone to support; we support those we believe have the potential to win and lead the party,” he said.
Dr. Amin Adam stated that his allegiance to Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s 2024 presidential candidate, is unaffected by his support for Mr. Afoko.
He claimed that Mr. Afoko is qualified to assist the party in overcoming its electoral loss because of his leadership qualifications and capacity for generating money.
“I have worked with Paul Afoko, and I know he is competent. He can also help raise funds for the party because we need money as a party in opposition,” he said.
