Former Black Stars and Asante Kotoko player, Ntow Gyan believes local coaches are ripped enough to lead the various national teams and has asked the Ghana FA to stick to the good local coaches the country has other than going in for foreigners who have nothing better to offer Ghanaians.
Gyan, who is the assistant coach for the Black Starlets in an interview with Happy FM reiterated the need to hire coaches in the country for the manage the various national teams, saying that they are capable of ending Ghana’s trophy drought when given time.
“I think local coaches can help us because we cannot be an apprentice to foreign coaches always. At least we need to support what we have. What has foreign coaches achieved for us? He quizzed.
“It’s about time we value what we have as Ghanaians. We should give the local coaches the opportunity. Hassan Shehata was a local coach in Egypt and with time he was able to achieve great things for the country. So it is about time we learn from them”
“We have the men here and God been so good, C.K Akonnor has been given the mandate as Black Stars coach, we should all support him” he concluded.
