The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC), led by the Registrar, Mrs. Maame Samma Peprah, Esq., has paid a courtesy call on Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang at the Office of the Vice President in Accra.
The meeting, held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, formed part of efforts to strengthen collaboration aimed at deepening business formalisation and expanding company registration across the country.
The visit provided an opportunity for the Registrar to brief the Vice President on the Office’s mandate, ongoing reforms, and strategic initiatives designed to bring business registration services closer to citizens and investors.
Mrs. Peprah highlighted the ORC’s nationwide business registration and public sensitisation clinics, which are being rolled out to promote the formalisation of businesses, particularly those operating in the informal sector.
According to her, the initiative seeks to improve access to registration services, educate entrepreneurs on the benefits of formalising their businesses, and enhance compliance with Ghana’s business registration laws.
She reaffirmed the Office’s commitment to supporting the Government’s reset agenda by creating a more inclusive, transparent, and vibrant business environment through improved access to business registration services nationwide.
Welcoming the delegation, Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang commended the ORC for its efforts to improve Ghana’s business environment through innovative outreach programmes and public education initiatives.
She encouraged the Office to continue implementing measures that simplify business registration processes and make its services more accessible to entrepreneurs across the country.
The Vice President also urged the ORC to strengthen its public communication and stakeholder engagement by consistently highlighting its achievements, reforms, and outreach activities.
She noted that keeping the public well informed about the Office’s work would boost public confidence, encourage voluntary compliance with business registration requirements, and enable more entrepreneurs to benefit from its services.
Present at the meeting were the Chief of Staff at the Office of the Vice President, Mr. Alex Percival Segbefia, Esq.; Policy Adviser (Political), Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo; Presidential Staffer and Special Aide to the Vice President, Prof. Theresah Ennin; Press Secretary, Ms. Maame Ama Pratt; and other staff of the Office of the Vice President.
The Registrar was accompanied by the Deputy Registrar, Mr. Benjamin Zigorsh-Nyankpenu; Head of the General Administration Directorate, Mr. Kwesi Owusu-Abrokwa; Head of the Legal Directorate, Mrs. Rebecca Aryeetey Smith; Head of the Planning, Policy, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (PPRME) Directorate, Mrs. Love Kessewaa Yeboah; and other officials of the ORC.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Government and the ORC to promoting business formalisation, improving the ease of doing business, and creating an enabling environment for enterprise growth and national economic development.
