Bankroller of second tier side Tema Youth, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer has taken a swipe at the Ghana Football Association over their decision to make the Ghana Premier League autonomous.
The nation’s football governing body announced that they have commenced plans to make the Premier League independent of the football’s governing body.
The top flight league is currently run by the Premier League Management Committee of the FA, who replaced the Premier League Board (PLB) last year.
Palmer in an interview expressed that, the said autonomous league which the Ghana FA wants to embark on does not exist anywhere in the world per his checks.
“It is only in Ghana that we want to run an autonomous league. It does not exist anywhere of which we want to start for the first time”
“Will you commercialized at this critical moment of the novel Convid-19? Economic activities has been granted to a halt due to the disease so I think this is not the time to even think about autonomous league,” he said.
