The Asamankese Circuit Court presided over His Honour Abubakari Abass Adams has sentenced a 23-year-old plumber to seven years imprisonment in hard labor for defiling a 14-year-old girl at Boadua.
Twum Alex, the accused pleaded guilty when charged for defilement and was convicted on his own plea.
According to Prosecuting’s statement, the complainant in this case is Bernice Tetteh, a trader in Boadua, while the accused is also a plumber in the same Town.
The prosecution statement said on 04/05/2020, the complainant traveled to Koforidua and left the victim at Boadua.
It said the complainant had a dream that the victim was having an affair (sexual relation) with an unknown man and on 10/05/2020, the complainant had the same dream and she was curious.
The complainant however confronted the victim and upon interrogation, the victim confessed that the accused, Twum Alex was having an affair with her for some time now.
The complainant made a report to the police and the victim was sent to the hospital for a check-up and it was revealed that she has been sexually harassed for several occasions.
The victim mentioned Twum Alex as the one behind that and the police arrested him and sent him to court for prosecution.
