The Akosombo Divisional Police Command in the Eastern Region has arrested a 20-year-old man for possessing human body parts.
The suspect Samuel Asare was arrested Tuesday morning at about 6:00 am by Police at Anum in the Asuogyaman District after his father reported to Police.
Father of the Suspect -Mr. Amoako Attah stormed Suspect’s room after nosing a strong stench from his room.
The father found some bones suspected to be human parts angrily beat the son mercilessly and rushed to the Police station to report.
Police together with the complainant went to his house where the suspect’s room was searched.
Police retrieved decomposed bones suspected to be human skull, jaw, and ribs.
He was arrested and sent to the Police station and later to the Salvation Army Clinic where he was treated and discharged.
The Acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command Sargeant Francis Gomado confirmed the arrest to mybrytfmonline.com
He said the exhibit bones have been sent to the Peki Government hospital morgue for preservation pending efforts for it to be sent to the Police hospital for further investigation.
He however said the Suspect has since refused to speak during interrogation.
