The Electoral Commission has announced, beginning July 25, 2020, Health workers, Security Personnel, and persons above 50 years could register for their Voters Identification Card at the Commission’s district offices.
“The Electoral Commission (EC) has put in place further arrangements for more specialized groups of citizens to participate in the ongoing Voters Registration Exercise. Beginning Saturday 25th July 2020 all applicants who are 50 years and above can visit any of the EC’s District Offices across the country to register for their Voters ID Card.”
The list has also been extended to include Health Workers and all categories of Security agencies once they can show proof of identification. Registration officials assigned to the various district offices of the Commission will assist these groups of persons to go through the exercise.
Consequently, the EC urges all persons in the above-listed groups to take advantage of this opportunity to get registered” a statement issued by the EC Friday said.
The Commission appeals to all, to complement its efforts to raise awareness about this latest arrangement, for the success of the 2020 Voters.
The EC is compiling new voters register for the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary election to be held on December 7, 2020.
Close to 17 million Ghanaians are expected to register.
