Over 45,000 palm seedlings have been distributed to over 80 farmers within the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern region under the ‘Planting for food and export’ policy.
Farming inputs have also been subsidised by the government under the ‘Planting for food and jobs’ policy initiated by President Akufo- Addo and the NPP government.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Madam Comfort Asante disclosed this at the first Assembly meeting of the new Assembly members and government appointees.
According to her, the Assembly has also distributed over 250 Veronica buckets, tissue papers, soap and other PPEs to government institutions within the municipality while Veronica buckets have also been placed at vantage points for public usage.
Madam Comfort Asante, however, emphasised that her outfit is collaborating with security agencies to ensure public adherence to the safety protocols to help contain the spread of the virus.
She added that the Roman hospital has dedicated a ward to be used as an isolation centre should in case the municipality records cases.
She, therefore, stressed the Assembly would continue to put down pragmatic policies to ensure the municipality get the needed development.
