Aggrieved customers of collapsed GN Bank in Awaso in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai municipality on Thursday embarked on a demonstrated at the premises of the Bank’s branch at Awaso township demanding payment of the locked-up funds.
The over 400 customers say President Akufo Addo’s claim that about 98% of customers of the collapsed banks have paid is untrue.
According to them, none of the customers in the Awaso Community have received any of their locked up savings threatening to vote out President Akufo Addo led NPP government if their monies are not paid to them.
The aggrieved customers clad in red and black dresses and armbands holding placards of various inscriptions told Kwame Kontor Boateng of Lord FM, that the situation is ripping their families apart and collapsing their businesses.
Therefore, appealed to the government to urgently pay the affected customers.
Some of the demonstrating customers said they will vote against the ruling New Patriotic Party in the December 7 general election if their savings are not paid to them.
“Government said it has paid us but none of us in Awaso has been paid. President Akufo-Addo must pay us our deposits. They claim they have paid 98% of the depositors why have not been paid. Which customers did they pay? We the over 400 customers in Awaso have not been paid.so where is the money. we will vote against Akufo-Addo if we are not paid “.
