IK Start mercurial midfielder, Isaac Twum has shared that he is not eyeing a call-up into the national team now as he aimed at helping his side to escape relegation in the ongoing season in Norway.
Isaac Twum in 2017 captained the Black Stars B to lift the WAFU tournament hosted by Ghana and subsequently earned a call-up into the Black Stars proper under Kwesi Appiah.
Speaking to S.K Ntim of Bryt FM in Koforidua, he noted that, it will worry him should his side suffer demotion from the Norwegian League, and for that matter, he is keen about helping the club out of relegation.
“It takes good performance to get Black Stars to call but as at now my team is suffering and are in the bottom so it will be prudent for me to help them out rather than thinking about an invitation into the Black Stars”
He noted that “It is the dream of every player to represent his country, for me, it is fine but for now, I’m not thinking about that because I’m just trying to help my team to come up”
“Though players have their dreams at the end of the day, it is your team that will make your dreams happen. If your team is not performing there is no way you can get a call-up into the national team. It is all about performance and I know for sure that, the chance will come at the right time” he said.
