Ex-Black Stars assistant coach, Ibrahim Tanko has thrown his weight behind Nana Yaw Amponsah to succeed as the Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko.
Tanko who guided Ghana U-23 to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semifinal expressed that the Porcupine Warriors have the right man for the job as he believes in the capabilities of the 2019 Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential aspirant.
In spite of that, he has entreated the board of directors and the fans to exercise patience as Amponsah will need time to transform the club.
“Nana Yaw is among one of the few who is abreast with modern trends of football and I’m 100% sure that he can do well for Kotoko. Everybody knows what he can do but if we don’t help him he cannot do it”
He continued that, “I will plead with the new board to support him but the most important thing is the fans because if the fans are able to exercise patience he can achieve his dreams with the club. But if they begin to lambast him if things are not going on well he can’t succeed. They should support him well because he cannot do it alone”
“I have seen his plans of organizing the fans of the club which is very important. But I will encourage him to have an eye on the infrastructures of the team so he can leave a mark at the end of his tenure” he said.
