A COVID-19 victim who succumbed to the disease has been buried at Akyem Bagoro in the Fanteakwa North District of the Eastern Region.
The deceased was interned by personnel from the Environmental Health Directorate of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) in collaboration with the local Environmental Health officers as well as the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).
The burial was expected to be done by WHO guideline but many of the people who were at the cemetery were not in full personnel protective Equipment raising safety concerns.
Fanteakwa North has recorded 36 confirmed cases of Coronavirus out of a total of 2,294 recorded in the Eastern Region. The region has however recorded 2074 recoveries and discharges.
A total of 31 deaths have been recorded in the region.
