Bono Region has recorded its first COVID-19 casualty.
The victim had comorbidities such as hypertension, heart, and Kidney Diseases.
The Deputy Bono Regional Public Health Director Dr. John Ekow Otoo disclosed this to the media.
According to him, the region has recorded five hundred and eleven(511) confirmed cases of the virus. Out of the total cases, five hundred and ten have been clinically recovered and discharged.
He explained that additional cases being recorded are results of the backlog of cases gradually being released by the Ghana Health Service.
He said the region has accumulated cases of over two thousand which are expected to be released in the coming days.
The health director indicated that most samples for the region have delayed for more than fourteen days and some twenty-eight days a situation that affected contact tracing and case management.
