Head of the National Office for West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Mrs Wendy E. Addy-Lamptey has assured all BECE candidates that all their question papers have been produced under tight security by Ghana Police and WAEC Security.
According to Mrs. Addy-Lamptey, all is set for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
She added that the council is ready with the examination items and all logistics needed for the Examination.
Speaking at the press conference in Accra on the 2020 BECE Examination, Mrs Addy-Lamptey assured that candidates can certainly pass their examination without cheating.
She said that the Examination for school candidates would be conducted from September 14-18, with a total of 531,705 candidates comprising 262,286 females and 269,419 males adding that candidates are from 17,440 schools, and they will write the Examination at 2007 centres.
“If candidates applied themselves to learning, they would be able to perform creditably, adding, “She said.
Mrs Addy-Lamptey also appealed to all candidates and Examination Officials to comply with the COVID-19 safety protocols.
She warned candidates that mobile phones will not be allowed at examination centres.
On behalf of WAEC, Mrs Addy-Lamptey wished all BECE candidates success in their papers and encourages them to focus on their books rather than relying on social media questions.
