Two Pregnant Candidates sitting the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in Kwahu Afram Plains South were on Monday rushed to Maame Krobo Health Center.
Whereas one was treated and discharged a few minutes the other was transferred to Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital after she was diagnosed with spontaneous delivery.
About 1038 candidates are writing the ongoing BECE exams in Kwahu Afram Plains South District but with over a dozen absentees owing to teenage Pregnancy and other reasons.
The teenage Pregnancy menace is high in Kwahu Afram Plains South District due to high poverty levels in the area
The District Chief Executive for Kwahu Afram Plains South, George Ofori, said the Assembly efforts will be intensified to curb the high rate of teenage pregnancy in the district to ensure that children in the area enjoy Free Senior High School Policy.
He however charged parents to be more responsible.
