The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, says construction of the Volivo Bridge over the River Volta is expected to begin by the end of 2026 or early 2027.
He said the government had worked with its Japanese counterparts and project consultants to accelerate the processes leading to the opening of bids and the selection of a contractor for the project.
Speaking at the opening of the bidding process on Thursday, November 5, Mr Agbodza expressed optimism that the latest development would move the project into its construction phase.
He said cooperation with Japan and the project consultants had helped speed up processes ahead of the bid opening.
