The chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Madam Jean Mensa has charged the Youth not to be used as warmongers in this year’s polls.
She stressed the need for the Youth to expose Politicians who try to use them for violence and urged them to let their words edify and build Unity.
Speaking at the launch of the Church of Pentecost “Agent of Peace Campaign” ahead of December general elections, Madam Jean Mensa noted that the Youth are Ghana’s future and the Nation continuation depends on them, therefore, they must be an instrument of Peace for peaceful polls.
The EC boss called on the Youth to resist all attempts by politicians to use them as objects of war and urged all Ghanaians to promote peace and walk with peace until the end of the election.
She said the commission will continue to engage political parties and citizens in their “Let the Citizens know” initiative aim at given on timely information (proactive and reactive) to the public on their activities.
The Electoral Commission chairperson said “Let the Citizens know” initiative has come to stay and reiterated her commitment to be an agent of peace.
She said the Commission is committed to peaceful polls and called on all stakeholders to support them to work for Ghana.
