Hundreds of applicants who could not complete their registration process on Thursday at the New Juaben South office of the Electoral Commission in the Eastern Region are expected to return Friday morning to complete the process.
The one-day registration exercise by the Electoral Commission (EC) is to afford persons who have recently attained 18 years and those who could not register during the main exercise in June this year to do so.
Majority of the applicants spotted at the New Juaben South EC office were youth, some of whom attained 18 years after the June registration exercise.
Some adults, the aged and some sick persons in clutches were also seen.
Many of the adult applicants said they were not able to register because during the main exercise they were either outside the country or were on sick beds. Few others said they were reluctant to register to vote.
As at 2:40 pm, 212 applicants had register while many were still in the queue. At the end of the exercise, only 302 were able to register.
The New Juaben South Municipal Electoral Officer Kofi Asante Owusu told mybrytfmonline.com the exercise was peaceful and smooth.
He said applicants in a queue who could not register before 6:00 pm were provided numbers to return Friday to register.
New Juaben South Constituency registered a total of 92,000 during the main exercise but some have been identified to be double registration which will be deduplicated.
