The Minister of Education Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh has said that Akufo-Addo led administration has served teachers better with impeccable records than the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to Dr Prempeh, well known as Napo, the administration of opposition NDC has churned out the worst educational policies ever since independence.
Napo added that the NDC government treated teachers with disrespect which has affected the educational sector negatively.
Addressing a conference of the Volta Regional NPP Teachers’ Network in Ho on Sunday, Dr Prempeh stated that the NPP is the only political party that meets the aspirations and needs of teachers.
“Within three and half years, what NPP government has done is unparalleled in the education sector,’’ he affirmed.
He continued that during the four years’ administration of the NPP, there has not been a teacher demonstration or strike.
The Education Minister said that the previous administration has cancelled Teacher Trainees Allowance but the NPP government has restored it.
Dr Prempeh urged all teachers not to make a mistake by voting for John Mahama in the December polls since that would spell another doom for the teaching profession.
