A driver at Koforidua Technical Institute (KOTECH) has been busted for an attempt to steal food items meant for students.
The driver was smuggling the food items with the official vehicle of the school but lacked luck under the vigilance of the security man on duty.
The Security man on the duty of the fateful afternoon, Yaw Apurisi, impounded the school vehicle after detecting 3 bags of white sugar,3 half bags of millet, half bag of beans, half bag of gari, and a half bag of maize concealed in the vehicle.
It is highly suspected that the Matron of the school is an accomplice.
Management of the School has commenced investigations into the incident.
The Committee constituted by the school started sittings on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. The first witness to appear was the security man Yaw Apurisi.
There have been multiple reports of stealing food items by a syndicate operating in the school therefore the arrest is a step to unravel the perpetrators.
The fear however is that the School could cover up the rot without any sanctions.
