The Suhum Municipal in the Eastern Region Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Joseph Owusu has hinted there will be no mercy for anyone who will be found for electoral violence and warmongering in December polls.
He said the Police will ensure law and order before, during, and after the Parliamentary and Presidential election.
Speaking at a Town Hall meeting organized by the Justice and Peace Commission in Suhum Catholic church, Chief Superintendent Joseph Owusu assured residents in the Constituency that the police will be available in all voting centers to guard voters, Electoral Commission officials, and their materials from anyone who may try to disrupt the voting process.
He said Security officers will be available in all voting centers, Coalition center, and others will be patrol as the rest will be Stan by the team and warn the Youth not to allow themselves to be used for violence.
He charged the youth to avoid taken Alcohol and any drugs that will lead them to cause mayhem on Election Day.
Chairman of Persons with Disabilities in the Suhum Municipality, Mr. Budu Asiedu urged Political Parties to provide vehicles for their members who cannot walk to the voting center and expressed worry over excessive noise in Suhum Township early in the morning and late in the night by political parties vans.
The Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Madam Comfort Asabea used the occasion to educate electorates on their role in this year’s general election.
