Residents of Akrofrom in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region have said that they will not vote in the upcoming general election if the government refuses to attend to their need for developmental projects.
According to the residents, although the government declared this year as the year of roads, they are yet to enjoy their share of the national cake.
They expressed their dissatisfaction over the way the community is being starved and deprived of development, bad roads network lack of potable drinking water and school buildings has become a death trap for them.
Adding that is risky and very stressful comparing the distance involved, most especially when pregnant women who are in labor at times take approximately one to two hours before they can get access to proper healthcare and some of them even end up dying on their way to the hospital.
Hence, they plead to the government to put up a CHPS compound in the community to enable them to have asses to quality health care.
The chief of Akrofrom, Nana Kwadwo Boakye complained bitterly over the lack of development in the area, adding that they have become angry with the way and manner their community is being denied meaningful infrastructural development.
However, he called on Government and its developmental agencies to attend to their needs to make life easier for them.
