The Eastern Regional Chairman of the largest opposition party NDC, John Owusu Amankrah alias Jowak has warned against unauthorized vigils for the late founder of the Party Jerry John Rawlings in some constituencies in the region.

Those who wish to support these vigils must use the party structures at all levels to ensure a successful celebration”
“We are by this statement cautioning all party members who intend to organize this vigil without recourse or approval from authorities to desist from same as sanctions will be initiated against those who will be found culpable” the Statement concluded.
Following the death of the former President Jerry John Rawlings, the NDC directed in a statement issued by General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia that the party will hold funeral related activities including vigils for their late leader across the country.
