Some residents in Kwesimintsim earlier today prevented some EC officials from setting up due to the poor nature of their roads and for that matter blocked the road in the area which has been abandoned over the years by the government.
After the earlier riot, police in Kwesimintsim have arrested one person at Whindo in the Kwesimintsim constituency who is believed to have played a major part in the riot which took place.
It took the intervention of some police personnel who ensured that the road is being cleared for EC officials to move to their various polling stations.
In an interview on Citi news with some fumed residents, they asserted that the District Chief Executive (DCE) promised to asphalt the road but unfortunately nothing has been done.
“Despite the many demonstrations we have held, they have still not fixed our roads. That is why we blocked the road today so that we do not participate in the election. The road is bad such that we spend a lot of time on a 30-minute journey. The DCE promised to asphalt the road but nothing has been done”.
