The Eastern Regional Director of Electoral Commission, Faith Adzo Amedzake has expressed satisfaction about the conduct of the elections so far in the Eastern Region.
Speaking exclusively with mybrytfmonline.com, while monitoring the exercise, the Regional Director of EC said no major challenge has been encountered so far across the region.
There were reports of the absence of manual verification forms in some polling stations in New Juaben South Constituency.
One person whose fingerprint and facial recognition were rejected by the biometric verification Device at the Atekyem Polling station had to wait for a while.
But the Regional EC boss says the forms are available and persons who require manual verification will be subjected to the process.
Some 1.6 million voters out of a national voter population of 17 million are expected to vote in the ongoing Presidential and Parliamentary elections in the Eastern Region.
At Atekyem 1 “A” polling station, out of the registered voters of 563, 53 had voted as of 8:19 am.
Also, at Atekyem 1 “B” Polling station Out of the total registered voters of 341 had voted as of 8:17am.
Atekyem Polling stations 2 “A“ also recorded 40 votes out of 483 registered voters by 8:13am.
The Atekyem polling stations had lots of older women and men on the voter’s register.
One of them, a 79-year-old -Juliana Appau a.k.a Gymnastic was very happy with the special treatment given to her.
