Winner of Ghana’s Miss Tourism International beauty pageant, Candybell Reider Kensah has advised women to be well satisfied with whatever gifts they will receive from their boyfriends and husbands during this festive season adding that everyone’s financial strength is not the same.
According to her, some relationships will end up during this period mostly because their boyfriends are unable to get them expensive gifts as others can do for their girlfriends and wives.
In an interview on Accra based Television, Candybell points out that the majority of women begin to desire luxurious gifts and grow ungrateful of whatever gifts their boyfriends buy for them when they see other women of their age group being gifted cars, houses, expensive phones and other things.
She lectured that if a man does not buy expensive gifts like cars and the likes for his girlfriend or wife, doesn’t mean that he does not love her but to know that all hands are not equal. The fact that someone’s boyfriend did it does not give the appetite that your boyfriend can do the same.
Candybell, however, shared a story of a girl who was allegedly poisoned at her birthday party by her own friends simply because she received the then-latest iPhone model as a birthday gift and they were envious of her.
“Let appreciate any little that we receive rather than to chase after expensive goods to end up with huge trouble,” she said.
She then advised women to focus more on the intention behind the gifts they receive rather than the value of the gift.
