Some ninety-five thousand health workers were recruited into the public health sector from 2017 to 2020 according to President Nana Akufo-Addo.
He said the Government also ensured that each constituency has a well-equipped, functioning ambulance with an extra ambulance on standby for Emergency support.
Delivering the State of the Nation address in Parliament on 5th January 2021, Nana Akufo-Addo said COVID-19 has presented the Government with the opportunity to resolve some long-standing problems in the health sector.
The President said Government has taken steps to resolve the problem of infrastructure deficit in the healthcare system once and for all, with the inception of Agenda 111 and the start of the building of hospitals around the country.
He said Government is upgrading district hospitals where they exist and establishing new ones where they do not and also investing in the next generation of Ghanaian doctors and nurses.
