Constitutional Lawyer, Paul Kumi has condemned the Member of Parliament Elect for Tema West Constituency, Carlos Ahenkorah for pulling such a disgraceful act during the dissolving of the 7th Parliament on January 6, 2020.
The former Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry has been trending after he was seen on live television snatching a ballot box during vote counting for the new speaker of parliament.
According to Lawyer Kumi, his actions can never be justified because what he did has marred his image and consequently that of the country. He condemned the act during an interview on Dadi FM, 101.1, with Abena Pokuaa Ahwenee.
“The fact that some members of the NDC members also acted wrongly doesn’t justify Carlos Ahenkorah’s actions, people should learn to accept their mistakes”, he said.
He added that Ghanaians should desist from explaining their wrong actions and start owning up to their actions. In his own words, “learn to say sorry instead of trying to justify what you did, saying sorry doesn’t make you weak it shows your level of maturity.”
He also said that people should learn to overlook certain issues or actions of other people and not always fight back.
“I know Muntaka Mohammed also committed a similar deed at the event but Carlos should have overlooked that and not repeat the same action, you don’t have always fight back.
