Constitutional Lawyer, Paul Kumi, has said that it was wrong and unnecessary for the military to appear amid chaos in parliament during the dissolving of the 7th parliament.
According to him, an investigation should be conducted to find the individual who gave the armed military men the order to step into parliament.
“I think there should be an investigation because their military men came in very armed with weapons which were very unnecessary”, he said.
Speaking in an interview with Abena Pokua Ahwenee on Dadi FM 101.1, he said, Ghanaians should not overlook this issue but should dig out the source of the military appearance in parliament.
He indicated that the only person who had authority in the parliament during that period was the clerk of parliament.
“The clerk of parliament was the one in charge of the activities within that period, so is it the clerk that issued that order? he quizzed.
He requested that an investigation should be conducted as soon as possible because it was alarming for the soldiers to appear armed.
He also pleaded to the leaders of the country to exercise the power given them by the citizens responsibly to ensure safety in the country.
