Three persons have been arrested by Police in Suhum in the Eastern region over missing corpse case.
The suspects arrested are two mortuary workers and a security man at the hospital who is apparently a son of the deceased.
Mybrytfmonline.com reported last Friday that the corpse of Nene Kofi Padi, 96 year old chief of Srah-Okanta, a farming community near Suhum who reportedly died on January 4, 2021 has gone missing at the mortuary.
Family of the late Nene Kofi Padi went to the hospital Friday in attempt to retrieve his corpse only to be told the body could not be found.
The only excuse given by the mortuary workers was that the corpse might have been mistakenly exchanged.
However, all efforts made by the Hospital authorities to locate the whereabout of the body have proven futile.
The bereaved family members, undertakers, hearse driver and sympathizers became stranded.
Food prepared for sympathizers at the funeral went waste incurring huge debt.
The suspects are therefore assisting in investigation.
