The Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana (MMAAG) has commiserated with the bereaved family of murdered Solomon Arhin, a member of the association at Okorase near Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
Solomon Arhin, a mobile money agent was killed by an armed robber (s) at Tw3sonwin Junction at Okorase near Koforidua the Eastern Regional capital.
The armed robber ambushed 36-year-old Solomon Arhin and his friend Saturday, June 19, 2021, at about 11:14pm while returning home after closing from work, and shot him in the chest.
His friend Charles Dankwa who was accompanying him during the attack escaped unhurt.
National Executives of Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana visited the house of the deceased on Sunday to mourn with them.
The National Chairman of the association, Delali Abotsi called on all agents in the country to close at 6:00pm as a measure to reduce their vulnerability risk in terms of a robbery attack.
“To be very Frank, it is one too many and we are so worried as an Association. The guy belongs to the Mobile money Association of Ghana so I been the Chairman I am in the house to console the Family and I can see the rep of MTN here. We have come to solidarize with the family and see the way forward. Me being here one of the things I want my colleagues to note is about the time that we close from work. If possible, by 6:00oclock every agent should close and do reconciliation and go home. It is the best for all of us now. Because what is happening is too much. So I will let everybody close by 6:00pm” He said.
The association called on the Police to expedite the investigation and arrest the robbery suspect for Prosecution.
The deceased left behind two children and a pregnant wife.
