Former Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transport Company (BOST), Mr. Alfred Obeng Boateng, has joined the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai parliamentary race in the Western North Region.
He will slug it out with the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) and Western North Regional Minister, Mr. Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu.
The NPP candidate to be elected is expected to face Mr. Stephen Donkor who massively won the over Mr. Stephen Bennie at the NDC parliamentary primaries in the constituency in 2019.
Mr. Gyedu said due to the achievement and developmental projects the NPP had undertaken coupled with his contributions in the areas of education, health, and jobs to the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency as MP, the NPP was likely to pick the seat again if he leads the party as the candidate.
Meanwhile, Mr. Alfred Obeng is optimistic to slug it out with the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) and Western North Regional Minister, Mr. Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu.
He said, His decision to contest the primary, according to him, follows a call on him by many party members and opinion leaders in the constituency to represent them in Parliament.
