Ranking Member on the Health Committee Kwabena Mintah Akandoh urged the government to be proactive and pioneering in its dealings with the ruining virus.
According to Mintah Akandoh, he is amazed that Akufo-Addo has not spoken about the growing rate of deadly infections at this abnormal time.
Ghana is currently faced with 3,466 active cases of the coronavirus and overall, it has recorded 99,734 cases of the virus while the death rate stands at 817 yet the government has not shown concern about it.
“I have heard about the Ghana Medical Association and other institutions speaking and it is specified that there are a lot of people who are nervous out there,” he told journalists.
The President addressed the nation on COVID-19 somewhere on the 28th of February that we have recorded new variants but then the Akufo-Addo has been quiet while the case is flooding.
I think it is the fact that the government is guilty of the Covid protocols and so that is probably what has elicited his huge silence on developments so far.”
The lawmaker for Juaboso publicized stressed that Ghanaians need a clear direction from the Political head since nobody is speaking for the country.
